Who I Am

Trained as a Cultural and Linguistic Anthropologist, I am an Independent Scholar researching and teaching in D.C. In my writing, classrooms, and public lectures, I explore the connections between popular culture and critical theories of race, gender, class, and sexuality.

I work along the edges of academia making contemporary critical theory accessible. I put what folks do in Ivory Towers in common sense, down-to-earth language using popular culture as an entry point for discussing relevant issues.
